Previously we reviewed one of the best free Antivirus, which you can trusted for your safety - Avast Free Antivirus. It has a lots of features which other free Antivirus software doesn't provide for Free like password manager, Home network security etc. Avast is the Most downloaded Software from Cnet in Software category and Antivirus category for a long term.
Today we are reviewing Another World class free Antivirus security AVG Free Antivirus 2016. AVG is second best Free Antivirus Software which are downloaded from Cnet in Free Antivirus category which supports Real time protection for free.
First lets check the features provided by AVG in AVG free Antivirus Software. It uses the same Antivirus Engine that its Paid versions like AVG Internet security software uses. So AVG Free Antivirus detects almost all viruses which its premium version detects. But you can still infected by phishing attempts and Hackers can still control your PC if you are using a Pirated/Outdated Windows System.
From the latest Antivirus Comparative tests and AV Tests AVG has detected almost 99% of new Virus and malwares. But this test results are based on AVG Internet security. But since AVG Free and AVG Internet security uses same Antivirus Engine both detection rate will be almost same, But AVG Free will be little less since it lacks Firewall and Online shields which are only available in AVG Internet security.
So we can score AVG about 98%. But during these Tests Microsoft Defender detected almost 97% in AV Comparative tests.
So I will rate 8 For AVG Free Antivirus since it has limited features.
